Tribute to my birds

The Nest once brought life to a batch of 2 .. (can't take pics cos its just outside CO office)

From the day 2 eggs were hatched..
Chicks crying out for hunger ..
Grown up and then vacated the nest

To my surprised ,the 2 adult nectar suckers returned to hatch another 2 eggs
Then the chicks..
Then I forgot about their existence..
until today ..

2 Dead bodies lie still.. half decomposed.

I can't even recognize whether they're the chicks or the grown ups..

Perhaps it was the young that died of starvation cos the parents nv returned.

Perhaps the eggs nv hatched and the parents died in the nest..

Perhaps the eggs were hatched and the younglings flew off..
whilst the 2 "lao jiaos" stayed back live their remaining time off..together

Perhaps , Perhaps , Perhaps..

..perhaps I've too long neglected too many

..before I could fully comprehend the contents to the entire 164minutes thriller.

I ain't gonna give a full review of the movie since you easily retrieve them here

There's always 2 sides to a coin

The film gives an insight from a terrorists' point of view ..

We've been fed with all these political reasons explaining how terrorism is condemned ..
videos and prints and footages of how inhumane these baddies can be - car bombs, WTC and bali bombings etc..

The filmed depicted on why the terrorists fight the losing war, sacrificing own lives for the many others in search of freedom, in search of a home not ruled and influenced by other cultures.

Never ending battle ; Revenge is sweet

The Israeli assassin squad, lead by Avner (Eric Bana) kills one terrorists leader..
another stronger and vicious man sprouts out in his place..
kills many more Israeli innocents in return for revenge..
including the eventual murder of their own squad members.

You pay to locate you enemy's whereabouts.. so can they.

Fact vs Fiction

Life isn't a bed of roses.

Its not easy as it seems to just kill..
you don't wanna cause collateral damage ..

The terrorist leaders, though vicious they can be are still humans.
Fathers to a family, taking up a normal job, listening to music like we all do

Eventually resulting in Avner's paranoia behavior, ironically sleeping in his own closet when he previously mocked at other agents for doing the same.

Week in Review

Tis been an eventful one, lotsa bizzare occasions , events and happenings..

Thursday is "off" day

Prearranged with my senior upperstudy, a disruptee from NUS for our self proclaimed off.. after that 5 day 4 nights of torments in the outfield. We deserve a break !

Probably gonna repeat the offence again this coming week since our boss taken overseas leave this coming mon - wed. .. *edited the following sentence

Friday is ORD day

Not me of course, not in another 11 month's time..

But its sad to see people around in camp clearing leave and parting with their pink ICs.
Jealousy aside, god knows when I'll see you guys again..

Mum actually left her phone on a cabbie and the taxi driver had to send it over to our house later in the afternoon. I offered him an ang pao but was firmly rejected.

.. its nice to know there's still good people in this world bearing a sense of honesty. Most of the other time you can forget about gettin your posession back, like how i lost my 6230i outfield and my sis' digicam in a cab ~2 years ago.

After sunset, headed to town for a "budget" dinner at Cartel and off to DXO
It was some live band performances by no-name bands at the dancefloor till 11 ..
but even thats better than channel U's superband.

The club's ambience is alright with different areas seperated based on ur preference.
I particularly liked the al fresco style pub with live band
much like balcony at Hereen except there's no band..
The dancefloor's overly populated by guys out numbering the girls to a 4:1 ratio
but least I had some fun watchin the girls shakin their bonbons and hammering 3 straight wins at the challenge pool table before quitting to give others a chance.

I play better when I ain't sobre .

Sunday was spent reading papers magazines, floor mopping and watchin Munich on DVD. shall give the movie a mention come my next entry.

End of Chapter

4 months of emotional rollercoaster
..finally put to a full stop.
or maybe not .. cos I'm an re offender, always self contradicting
never know whats tomorrow gonna hold..
but I sure needed some cooling down to recuperate my senses

I'm havin this awkward mix of disappointment and relieve
perhaps a smaller dosage of the latter..
relieve in the sense that maybe the magnitude of my emotional fluctuations can be kept in check
but from another point of view , just leading back to the "boring" old life

But life has its twists and turns
who knows maybe a Ferrari F430 may just pop outta nowhere

I'm exaggerating
I need more rest

I'm Back !

5 Days 4 sleepless nights of saikang
- fixing/removing of road signs
- setting up/tearing down/relocation of tents
- construction/destruction of triple corn wires
- RP duty
- camouflaging of shitholes using camo nets..(lucky i didn't have to dig and cover them up)
.. and constantly bugged by boredom

Constant alternation of weather -- blazin sunlight, thunderstorm, or a bit of both
..on unleveled gravel ground surrounded by dense vegetation
heavily infested by mosquitos, sandflies and all forms of creepy crawlies

I smoked, drink, eat, nap, saikang, smoke more, drink more, eat more. and thats it.
Oh and best of all, I lost my handphone , so does all my picture and media files and contacts in the sim card..

But it ain't all bad ..

I met TH for the 1st time in uniform (after his CO threatened him to pay me a visit, with extras)

..and this cute blonde waved and saluted me in a cab while our vehicles stopped at the traffic lights. made me doubt my dress sense.. perhaps do look better in camo face + long 4 .. ?? but heck, it did gave me a jolt of morale boost. haha !

A young witty lookin half-colonel approached me while I was guarding the gate with my buddy.. and I remembered the conversation went like ..

"...how old r u guys ?.. whats ur highest paper qualification? "

"Sir, Im going NTU engineering and that guy's a NUS business undergrade disruptee"

"and you guys are made to stand here checking people for access password ?"

and he went on ..

"You guys should be in the Command Post to facilitate your commanders in the planning .. "

Ya right .. plan my ass, bet you didn't realise even the men and sgts in there are doing saikang too. They prepare and maintain all the computers and communication, collect data on the battle stats , and reports them to the commanders. The commanders makes decision and instructions are passed down to the men to do more saikang. Then they walk out to of the CP and gets food and drinks all nicely prepared in the shelter, inspects the triple corn wires just so it looks "nice" when the chief of army and VIPs arrive later on. Oh and nicely covered shitholes for relief purposes.

At the end of the day, these pacifier suckers gets the credits, rises higher in ranks and shoots more arrows down to the lower ranked. Hell, our CO even makes his runner make noodles and tea while everyone else eats combat ration.

Makes me doubt their ability, are these the people who deserves the right to lead battlions of men .. Would you wanna risk your life in times of war under their command ?
