Iv started taking a keener interest in horoscope lately thanks to certain individuals..
Quoted from ST Sunday Life! :

Capricorn
" Don't beat yourself up over not being able to take on new challenges. Thats normal. Afterall, with everything you've accomplished, you deserve a break. Call some madcap friends and throw a party. "

week in review

Yesterday marks the end of our 4 gruesome days @ the inter unit table tennis tournament, and I'm glad we drew the curtains to a close with a gold medal in hand. But its not the usual sense of victory and pride that reeks in me.. given the fact that I was trashed on 2 consecutive occasions by a school player from Meridian JC.

As such..James has come to a new understanding in sports and all things in life, having an interest and some adhoc practice is far from success. You need passion, and all those years of hard work and dedication.

A 2nd visit to Timbre in a span of 9 days ,only with a very different character this time round. One who translates fickleness to "exploring the best of available options" and wants to prove he's a better guide around the smu campus.

..also not forgetting the 23rd birthday of a certain unique individual who introduced me to whole new music genre and her wisdom which constantly puts me in awe.

Happy Birthday RARA !!

Logic itself doesn't define the eventual outcome.

..and it seems that familiar feeling of deja vu dawns upon others
just as much as it once did upon me .

reality sucks.

random words of a sleep deprive

Being a jack of all trades do have its trade offs as I have witnessed recently.
As if the day training for the upcoming table tennis tournament (on top of my basic duties) wasn't enough, I was notified of a last minute entry into the Tiger Trail competition - think 16km dist + lotsa near vertical slopes which TH reckon totals up to roughly half a marathon distance. Perhaps I really do deserve some commendation after all

Update on 19th Apr:

I couldn't believe I survived a 9 * 800m interval sprint, despite being dragged off the bed in the morning. My humble request for withdrawal of tiger trail was denied without hesitation, along with the assurance that my medical expenses - should any accidents occur - are being taken care of, as long my service term is valid.

That said, I have no choice but to forfeit a couple of days leave.
.. Speak of ending it with a bang.

I suppose the newly weds this weekend took my critics into account,
some cultural performances in colourful attire and props
no KTVs , no timberlake/usher/gwen stephani
.. short and sweet.

in fact I wouldn't mind giving free photoshoots .. if I own a D40

Stars - one more night

try as he might he's unable to speak
he grabs her by the hair, he strokes her on the cheek
the bed is unmade like everything is
dark little heaven at the top of the stairs
take me like that, ruin it all
then build it again by the light in the hall
he drops to his knees says please my love, please
i'll kill who you hate, take off that dress, you won't freeze

one more night, that was a good one
one more night, i dreamed it was a good one
one more, one more night, that was a good one
one more night, the end should be a good one
a good one

he starts with her back cause that's what he sees
when she's breaking his heart she still fucks like a tease
release to the sky, look him straight in the eye
and tell him that now, that you wish he would die
you'll never touch him again so get what you can
leaving him empty just because he's a man
so good when it ends, they'll never be friends
one more night, that's all they can spend

Few lyrics deserve my blog space, but
I am absolutely mesmerised by this song..

One thing about me you probably wouldn't know
I remain stubbornly faithful to songs that captivate
even among the sea of more recent melodies owing to rara's generosity

" Happy birthday to you,
you live in Balls-town.
Your friends miss you here,
and so do your fleas "
Upon returning from the NTU health check
I discovered this big envelope

.

.. mere case of coincidence
or a brilliant plot to waste my $20 ?
Doesn't matter now, James is overwhelmed with joy

One of the perks to living on an island of multi religions is the vast exposures to their rich cultures and traditions.

However, as the society advance with the times, towards accommodating a population of 6M.. there is no place no more to hold certain traditions which may compromise the peace and serenity of others.

I'll just put this straight. If you must continue to hold weddings (read: Noisy) in the heart of our living community, pls spare a thought for others and go back to your kampungs.

Movie Synopses

Here's a collection of the (shortest ever) movie synopsis in case you have missed out these great films in the last month or so.

- Letters of Iwo Jima
An account of the clash between the japs and yankees on the island of Iwo Jima. The entire film - directed by Clint Eastwood - conversed in Nihongo, and its interesting to note the pictures were mostly shot in monochrome to enhance the effects of yesterday. You witness the traditional japanese believes of pride and loyalty for their country, negatively demonstrated leading to perhaps, an earlier defeat.

- Hannibal Rising
As the title suggest, a prelude to the fictional trilogy of man eater - Hannibal Lector. Born and raised in a rich and wealthy family, a chain of tragedy and events which drew him to violence and eventual cannibalism. Having watched the film, perhaps you might not enjoy eating fish heads like you used to.

- 300
Attack might not be the best form of defence, as portrayed in the film. 300 skimpily clad spartans (with abs to die for) fight against a massive Persian army. A rather straight forward storyline with Sin City like effects, but you'll be awed by the theatrical fighting sequences and love making scene.

- Little Children
Films on adultery never fails to capture my enthusiasm. With some close association to the movie "Closer", depicts an unconventional relationship involving 2 partners whom already had families of their own. Its a realistic, yet mind wreaking account of how adults portray themselves in an infantile manner .. especially evident in the closing scene.

- Babel
I did a tiny research on the origins of The Towel of Babel: In an attempt to prevent ancient men (whom used a common language) to build a towel reaching to the heavens, God casts a spell upon them to confuse their language thus hindering their progress to work together. With relation to that, a bullet fired off (pun intended) a sequence of misfortunes which occur in the opposite ends of the earth. All of which are linked by a common error - Miscommunication.

- Mr Bean's Holiday
A warm and heartening comedy to commemorate the final appearance of our fav english comedian as Mr Bean. With the majority of the settings filmed in france, the story tells of how Bean makes his bizarre journey to the beaches in Cannes. Though the jokes doesn't appear to be adequately humorous for the common adult, look beyond his naive actions and you could spot a some precious lessons in life.

If there's one incident that puts a halt on our hectic routines and to reflect how precious, yet vulnerable life can be ..

** 6pm , somewhere in camp **

Irritated by the delay, friend and I were making our way out of camp whilst on the discussion on plans after ORD. Just as we stepped on the road tarmac, a couple of sharp and distinct snaps above.

Before I could even recognise them, a few branches that resembled more like logs estimated to be at least a meter in length were already in their state of free fall. In the next blink of an eye, the deadfall smashed against the road tarmac and fragments of wood flew in all directions. To assist your imagination, think of a car explosion. (.. well almost)

And on the same spot still we stood, stunned by the impact just less than 5 meters ahead. Or you could say, less than 10 seconds walk before you innocently crossed onto ground zero. Amazingly still, none of the wooden fragments reached us.

Now ponder, what if ..

Though as a non believer of god, don't just rule me out from spiritual believes such as Fate and Karma. There is a time and place for every major event in life, most of them in occasions you least expected.

Thus, the saying

Live each day as if it were your last

Happy April Fool's

I realised the entire heap of blabberings could be summarised in just 2 words :

I'm Back !
